BOB, Ronny816, Graphing , October 6

Ello, today during class in math, during school, 5th period, Mr. Harbeck forced us to mark our graph test. After we marked our graph tests, Harbeck told us that since so many people got low marks or did some mistakes they probably should not have, he said if we do a blog on the following, we would get extra marks.

1. We had to type out 3 things we already knew about math that you would NEVER forget.

and

2. Something that we SHOULD have done on the test that we didn't.

Three things that I will never forget about graphing

One thing that I will never forget about graphing is that you have to organize the data somewhere so that your reader knows what your talking about. If you do not put the data for graphs like circle graphs or pictographs, it just a bunch of pretty drawings with no meaning. However other graphs such as bar graphs or line graphs have labels that could tell you the data but it could still be misleading.

Another thing that I won't forget is that you should always use an appropriate graph for the data. Like if you are comparing 2 pieces of data, using a double bar graph or double line graph would be the best way to represent it. A bar graph is best used for more then 2 pieces of data, and a line graph is best for representing data over time.

The last thing I will mainly remember about graphing is that misrepresenting data can imply massive differences. Distorting a bar size makes it much more or less noticeable. Making a break in the interval lines for the y-axis also helps to show the data.

One thing I wish I had done on the test is that if I had organized my data neater or better, it would have saved me some marks.

Thank you for reading mah blog. Plox comment
