Nhea's Ratio Scribepost, 10/14/09

Today in class we were told to write
two-term ratio
three-term ratio

part-to-part ratio
part-to-whole ratio
unit rate
unit price
and
proportion
on the foldables.

So now for homework we have to give the definitions for
two-term ratio,
three-term ratio,
part-to-part ratio and part-to-whole ratio.

Two-term ratio - refers to a ratio that compares two similar amounts of a unit

-ex.a:b or a to b-

Three-term ratio -
refers to a ratio that compares three similar amounts of a unit.

Part-to-part ratio -
refers to a ratio that compares different amounts in a group against the rest.

Part-to-whole ratio - refers to a ratio that compares one amount to the rest of a whole group.

-ex. a:b:c or a to b to c-
