Laura's Pay It Forward

Part 1:

OK, I didn't get to watch the video because I was sick and now it's not working, So I will post part one after I watch it. :)

Part 2:

My pay it forward act of kindness was baking cookies for the bake sale at my church to raise money for the youth group.

I chose this activity because my youth group is very important to me, and also because we help bring people to Christ, and in my opinion that is the greatest gift of all. ♥

I baked cookies.

I helped my youth group.

I did my act of kindness on December 6th, 2009.

Part 3:

My act of kindness went great.

Everybody loved the cookies.

I felt grateful that I could help my youth group.

The youth group leaders are very excited to be able to upgrade the youth group.

I didn't ask the people to "Pay It Forward" because...there were too many people buying the cookies...it would have seemed weird.

Part 4:

The idea of "Pay It Forward" is important because it helps show people that you care.

My act of kindness has made a difference because now people have a great taste in their mouths, and my youth group has some money to work with.

REFLECTION

Next Steps:
Here are some ideas to keep "paying it forward".

1: Facebook has millions of users, and chances are, a bunch of them are your friends. But how much do you really talk to them? One idea would be just to take the time and write on somebody's wall that you haven't talked to in a while. Just a simple "Hi" or "What's up?" They will appreciate it.

2: We all have someone we don't like...I do, you do, our parents do, but what about how that person feels? Maybe they didn't even know they were hurting you and are too shy to ask. My point is, be extra nice to that person. Do something out of the ordinary, because believe it or not, lots of great friendships that have started out as rivalries.

3: Friends are AWESOME! But wow...they can fight if you say the wrong thing! (Believe me...I know about a grudge that has been going on since grade 4...not pretty). Anyways, a good way to prevent that...especially around Christmas time, is to make your friends cards. Or maybe do a "Secret Santa". Those are always fun! Be creative, because the friends you have can't be replaced. ♥

What is the Power of One?

The power of one is very strong, and often underestimated. For example, did you know that Einstein's teacher told him that he would never amount to anything because he wasn't smart enough! But he was one of the smartest geniuses of ALL TIME! Another example is Terry Fox. He had an amputated leg because of cancer, so he decided to RUN across CANADA! He didn't complete his coarse, but because of him we have a Terry Fox run every year, and every year cancer research is getting more and more developed. Because of the power of one.

Would You Have Changed Anything About Your Random Act Of Kindness?

I would have made more cookies, but I ran out of supplies.

How Has Your Experience With "Pay It Forward" Changed You.

I think "Pay It Forward" has made me more aware of the people around me and how I act towards them. It has also made me a better person, in the sense that, now I am thinking of ways to go out of my way for people to show them that I care. Over all, it has had a positive effect on me.

THANKS FOR READING! KEEP PAYING IT FORWARD! ^_^
