A gardener takes a half hour to mow and
weed a lawn that measures 20 m by 15 m.
He charges $25 per hour. How much
should the gardener receive for a lawn that
measures 40 m by 30 m?
He will earn $25 because if it takes him half an hour ( 30 minutes ) to do 20m by 15m it will take him 1 hour to do 40m by 30m because 20m x 2 = 40m and 15m x 2 = 30m .
