### alex's rate growing post

This was our homework for the weekend.

Rate-A comparison of two quantities measured in different units.

Ratio-A comparison of two quantities measured in the same units.

The difference between a ratio and rate is that a ratio compares two quantities measured in the same units and a rate compares two quantities measured in different units.

Shannon buys 12 granola bars for \$9.96.

a)Determine the price per bar. Give your answer in dollars and cents.
Zero dollars and 83 cents.

b)Explain whether your answer in question a) is a ratio or rate.
My answer in part a is a rate because \$0.83/bar is dealing with something per something.

My question is there is 3 blocks of cheese. The first one is \$2.59 for 350g, the second one was \$3.98 for 700g, and the third one was \$5.23 1200g. Which is the better price?
The biggest block of cheese was the better price.
The first one was o.oo74/g, the second one was o.oo56/g, and the third one was o.oo43/g.
