Althea's %%%%%%'s rate growing post, Nov1

HELLO EVERYBODY!!!

Today everybody in our class has to make a growing post. So first what I am going to do is to define ratio and rate. After, I have to tell what are the differences of those 2 word.

Ratio means a 2 or more quantities measured in same units.

Rate means 2 quantities measured in different units

-Now, that I told you what are the definition of these 2, you can see that the meaning is almost the same. The differences of these two is that ratio means is measured in same unit and rate means measured in different units.

1. Determine the unit rate in each situation:

a.) An ocra swims 110 km in 2 h.

- 55 km/1 hr

b.) A Canada goose flies 800 km in 12.5 h.

-64 km/1 hr

c.) Cathy plants 45 daffodils in 30 min

-1.3 km/1 hr

2. Trevor rode his mountain bike in 84 km in 3 h. Jillian rode 70 km in 2.5 h. Who is the faster cyclist? How do you know?

- Their both the same because when I calculated each of their speed it equaled to the same amount.

LOOK BELOW TO SEE HOW I GOT THE ANSWER:

  1. Well done! Man, I just taught this unit and our class is just starting out on a blog. Rookies all of us.

That is what brought me to your classes. Or rather, your teacher's classes.

I can quickly see that you are right into it and you understand what you are talking about.

Would you be interested in helping my students and I with our blog? (and maybe our math too!)

    our blog is 107mathblog.blogspot.com

Hope to see you (and your classmates? teacher? too) there!
