Surface area

In the past is about Surface area lxw in handing writing for the rectangular prism. For the Triangular prism lxw for the rectangles and bxh/2 for the triangles.

Let me show you how we did it.
if I did a rectangular prism so like, but first we do the formula.
l x w=A

#xside a=#
#xside a=#

then lxw= #
#x2=

#x2=

#x2= add them all up and you get the surface area Triangle l x w= b x h/2

By the time you got the answer add them up. Then you add the triangles and get the TSA ( TOTAL SURFACE AREA)

Oh.. one more Cylinder is a 3-dimensional circle

there is radius, circumference and diameter.

Hey Guys,

Harbeck told us to create a video on how you find the TSA of a "triangular prism", "rectangular prism"and a "cylinder". To learn how to calculate the TSA of these shapes please watch the video me, Warren and Justin created.

I wasn't able to upload any pictures, so I'll just give you a website that tells you how to find TSA of a Cylinder, Triangular Prism & a Rectangular Prism.

There is the, website at the bottom.

Surface Area...

Rectangular Prism...

A= L*W
Top & Base :

A= 13.5 * 5
A= 67.5 cm²
Front & Back :

A= 13.5 * 18.5
A= 249.75 cm²

Sides :

A= 18.5 * 5
A= 92.5 cm²
TSA = 249.75 + 249.75 + 92.5 + 92.5 + 67.5 + 67.5
TSA = 819.5 cm²

This is the net for my Rectangular prism ...

Triangular Prism ...

A = B* H ÷ 2
A = 1.4 * 2.3 ÷ 2
A = 3.22 ÷ 2
A = 1.61 m²

TSA = 1.61 + 1.61 + 1.61 +0.98 + 1.89
TSA = 7.7 m²

This is my net for a Triangular Prism...

Cylinder ...

r= d÷2
r= 7÷2
r=3.5cm
A = ╥r²
A = 3.14 * 3.5 * 3.5
A = 38.46 cm²
c = ╥d
c = 3.14 * 7
c = 21.98 cm²
A = L * W
A = 21.98 * 30
A = 659.4 cm²
TSA = 659.4 +38.46 + 38.46
TSA = 736.5 cm²
