Surface Area Growing Post

Rectangular Prism:

To find the surface area of this rectangular prism or any, you need the find the area of each face and add up all of the areas. To find the area of a rectangle you need to use the formula length x width.
Here is the work you should have after trying to find the total surface area:



Triangular Prism:


To find the surface area of a triangular prism, you also need to find the area of each face. You use the same formula to find the areas of the rectangles and you use base x height ÷2 to find the areas of the triangles.

Cylinder:


To find the surface area of a cylinder, you need to find the area of each face. You can use
T.S.A. = 2x(π x r²) + ( π x d x h) to find the surface area of a cylinder.
